StaffCherubim Director - Pre-choir music program Rose Hominick, MDiv, MRe, and BA (Honors English), was born in Nova Scotia and commenced her musical education at the age of seven. She was involved in the Halifax Schools renowned Music Program as both singer and instrumentalist over a period of 15 years, performed as soloist and choral singer, and has also studied clarinet, ukulele and guitar. As a singer she is a veteran of more than 200 weddings and special functions, has led music programs at children's camps on the East Coast, and studied in the Joseph Shore Voice Studio on the West Coast. In addition to her duties with the Cherubim, Rose directs Faith Church Children's Choir in Vancouver. Accompanist Erik Hominick, BA (Music), N.A.T.S. member, was born in Nova Scotia, studied piano at the Toronto Conservatory, and piano and voice at Dalhousie University. In 1983 he moved to Vancouver to join the music faculty at Vancouver Community College (KEC) and commence an 11-year professional singing career with the Vancouver Chamber Choir. At present he is also on faculty at TOOBA Physical Theatre Centre. Mr. Hominick is an experienced recital, workshop, rehearsal and audition pianist; has worked with many of Vancouver's finest choral ensembles, singers, instrumentalists, voice studios and music institutions; has served on the Douglas College music faculty (New Westminster); lectured at the University of British Columbia, and led accompanist and vocal workshops for the BC Choral Federation. He operates a voice studio in Vancouver and Richmond and freelances as piano teacher, accompanist, arranger, baritone soloist and vocal coach. On the lighter side, Eric has been a Broadway rehearsal and show pianist, cruise ship entertainer, cocktail pianist and lectuter on the topic "Crossing Over From Classical to Broadway". Guest Director Donna Dinsmore, MCS, MS BS, taught choral music in the South Carolina public school system from 1979 - 1996. There her choral groups consistently participated in national, state and local festivals and competitions, including the National Youth Choir's Carnegie Hall performances in 1992 and 1994 with John Rutter and Eph Ehly. Donna was selected Teacher of the Year three times and was an auditioned member of the Robert Shaw Festival Chorus that performed in New York City in 1993 and 1995. Donna moved to Vancouver in 1996 to study and has made Vancouver her new home, completing a Masters Degree at Regent College and serving in various music capacities in local churches. She is currently the Worship and Music Pastor at White Rock Baptist Church. Administrator Lynn van Zanten, DipLCM, has more than 15 years experience in the Greater Vancouver choral community, including the Amadeus Children's Choir and AcademyWest Schola Cantorum. She is also the Administrator for the Vancouver Kiwanis Main Music Festival. Lynn studied Music Education at UBC, has completing her DipLCM in Piano Performance and is continuing to work toward her ARCT in Piano Pedagogy.
