The Audition Process
Parents/guardians are permitted into the audition room. If your daughter feels better supported by your presence, we would be pleased to have you observe the audition.
You will see and hear what we are looking for in a prospective singer.
During the 20 minute audition, your daughter will be asked to perform some or all of the following:
- sing some vocal exercises to assertain her ability to match pitches, determine her vocal range, and timbre, dynamic capabilities, flexibility and breath control
- sing certain notes within a chord to determine if she can hear inner harmonies
- clap simple rhythms and sing a simple melody
- sing O Canada
